I highly recommend Iberostar Paraiso for your Riviera Maya adventure.… There is also 2 fitness areas on the property and I had every intention of using them, but nah! Yoga is also offered along with numerous fitness classes and trainers. You download their app and you can do just about everything on it - making reservations, checking on daily activities, menus, etc, We did check out the spa and right inside is a large pool with a retractable roof. Someone is performing every evening in the lobby area bar. There is also a disco club just a golf cart ride up the road. There was entertainment around the pool at night. With the humidity outside and the AC on inside, it created a lot of condensation and the floor became quite slippery and dangerous - we learned the hard way. Tip: if you go onto the balcony, keep the sliding doors shut. We took a small portable fan with us that helped. Ceiling fan is in this area but there is not one over the bed. There was also a large flat screen tv and a separate lounging area with lounger and table and chairs. The shower is small and quite difficult to shave your legs in but I managed. Bathroom is spacious with separate sink areas, a water closet, jetted tub and shower. Room serviced can take from 45moin to an hour but if you know that ahead of time you can plan accordingly. This place is a bit more classy! Room service as well as butler and concierge service is 24/7. Note: If you're expecting the cabinet on the wall filled with tequila, rum, etc. You have butler service that will replenish your mini bar with whatever you want. The lower floored room have a jetted tub on the balcony. Nice balcony with a couch and chair swing for 2. The room - we had a 3rd floor ocean front room. My husband did say the margaritas were pretty good. I thought the drinks were a bit on the weak side so if you like them a bit stronger I suggest asking for an extra shot o mix in. We visited the Italian restaurant one evening and it was excellent. There is a buffet that offers variety and is excellent for all meals. They have a variety of restaurants but I suggest you check with your concierge as one or more can be closed on a given night. They won't hurt you and will scurry off if you tell them to but it can be quite startling to have them jump up on your chair while lounging. They are like a racoon with a long tail and they will jump up on your chair. There are a variety of iguanas lounging around especially in the hot afternoon sun. While we did not see any critters at the beach, they are around the pool and they are not afraid of people. While we were there most everyone abided by this - a plus since I am a breast cancer survivor and do not want to inhale their smoke. It is prohibited in all public places and there are designated areas to do so. Around the pool music is constantly being played and a variety of activities are going on throughout the day that you can participate in. So this does interrupt your quiet time at the beach. Also, you have people from the resort coming around trying to entice you to a message or other services they offer and there are people going around trying to sell you their wares as well. There is a lot of seaweed at this location and the trucks were there every day all day picking it up so this did interrupt the serenity of being at the beach but I know they try to stay ahead of it. Not sure if this was an extra cost because like I stated, we did nothing! Plenty of towels were available throughout the day and you were not limited as to how many you could have at one time. At the beach you had jet skis, kayaks, parasailing and sailboats. Bar service at both locations was excellent without being bothersome. Plenty of palapas on the beach and they weren't on top of each other. Cabanas around the pool got taken very early - buy 6am! Even though it states not to save your chairs. On tis trip e decided to do absolutely nothing as we did it quite well. Staying here gives you cart blanche to visit the other properties but I don't know why you would. This particular one is the adults only area of a string of their resorts. We go to Riviera Maya about twice a year and this resort is by far the best we've stayed at.
